The John M. Kelly Library’s Special Collections: Archives and Rare Books consists of archival, manuscript, and rare book materials. Special Collections items are non-circulating and can be accessed in the Special Collections Reading Room, on the second floor of the library.
Interested in the history of the University of St. Michael’s College? The library also hosts the USMC Archives.
The Special Collections Reading Room will be closed from December 24th to January 5th for the winter holidays. We will reopen for researcher appointments starting on January 6th.
The Special Collections Reading Room is open Monday to Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. by appointment only.
Please note that due to scheduling constraints it may be necessary to reschedule appointments at short notice. We will be in touch with you directly if a change needs to be made to your scheduled time.
Please direct queries or appointment requests to: specialcollections.kellylibrary@utoronto.ca
Before visiting, you are warmly encouraged to review our Researcher Guidelines. Rare materials damage easily. But if well-treated they can last many generations and, in some cases, hundreds of years.
